Sarnia deserves a Mayor with a clear plan and the drive to follow through on it.
Chrissy McRoberts is running on four priorities that reflect what she hears from residents every day: a desire for community pride, real growth, principled leadership, and good jobs that keep families here.
Sarnia is a strong and resilient city, but rebuilding our reputation won't happen overnight. Over the last three years, negative headlines and division have made many businesses hesitant to invest here, and that hesitation has a real cost. The next Council term needs to be about turning the page: leading with positivity, maintaining community pride, and standing firmly behind our local businesses.
When we show the world that Sarnia is united, confident, and ready, outside investors will take notice. A city that believes in itself is a city ready for growth, opportunity, and long-term success.
Growth starts by investing in the people who already call Sarnia home. That means creating more housing options. This includes smaller homes, gentle densification, and innovative infill projects that make homeownership attainable for first-time buyers, young families, seniors, and working residents. By retaining our population and providing affordable pathways to ownership, our neighbourhoods get stronger and have a foundation built for long-term economic growth.
A growing and thriving community also depends on supporting local businesses first. Every dollar spent locally creates jobs, supports local families, and keeps investment circulating right here in Sarnia. At the same time, we must work together to change the negative narrative surrounding our city and showcase Sarnia as a welcoming, forward-thinking community. By promoting our skilled workforce, strong industrial base, and exceptional quality of life, we can attract new businesses, support our workforce, and encourage the right investment that benefits our entire community.
Leadership starts with respect, starting at the council table.
As Mayor, Chrissy will promote professionalism, order, and healthy debate that focuses on solving problems, not creating them. We do not need to agree on every issue, but we do need to listen, communicate, and work together to find solutions that move Sarnia forward. Sarnia deserves a council chamber where residents feel represented and where elected officials model the kind of conduct our community expects.
Sarnia is a beautiful city with many strengths, and it's time to focus on what unites us. We need emotional intelligence, resilience, and meaningful communication that encourages residents to be part of the conversation about our future. By working together from a place of mutual respect and a shared vision, we can build a stronger community that reflects the needs and values of the people who live here.
Strong communities are built on strong employment opportunities. Sarnia has everything it needs to deliver both.
Our highly skilled workforce, talented tradespeople, entrepreneurs, and young people are our biggest assets, and they're looking for reasons to keep building their future here. Chrissy's focus will be on supporting local businesses, attracting new investment, and creating conditions where employers can grow and hire with confidence. By strengthening relationships with industry, promoting workforce development, and encouraging business growth, we can create more opportunities for residents at every stage of life.
When good jobs are available, families stay, young people remain in our community, and our local economy becomes stronger and more resilient.
Sarnia is at a turning point. The challenges of recent years are real, but so is this our capacity to rise above them. Chrissy McRoberts is running for Mayor because she believes Sarnia's best days are still ahead, and because she knows that getting there requires leadership grounded in respect, honesty, and a real plan.
On October 26, Sarnia will choose the direction of our city for the next 4 years. Chrissy is ready to lead, and she's ready to get to work.
